The Cedar Lakes College of Commissioner Science is a continuing education program for Commissioners and other adult leaders of the Boy Scouts of America.

Seven class sessions are offered on Saturday. Saturday sessions allow the attendee to select from 3 or 4 possible classes. Your course selection can be geared to your specific interests. The weekend is a learning opportunity as well as a nice social event. If you can only attend on Saturday, you will get a full training schedule but much of the fellowship activities are Friday and Saturday evening. One optional, Sunday class is also offered.

College Advancement: Attend the first year and earn your Bachelor of Commissioner Science degree. Attend additional years to earn advanced degrees, Master and Doctor of Commissioner Science.

Sponsored by: Allohak Council, Buckskin Council, Mountaineer Area Council, Muskingum Valley Council, Ohio River Valley Council and Tri-State Area Council with participation by additional Area 4 councils.

WHERE

Cedar Lakes Conference Center, Ripley, West Virginia. Operated by the WV Department of Education.

Cedar Lakes is conveniently located off I-77 at the Ripley/Fairplain Exit #132, just 38 miles north of the state capital, Charleston, and south of Parkersburg.

FROM THE NORTH:

Take Exit 132 off I-77

At bottom of exit ramp, turn left onto Route 21 North

Go underneath the intersection

Make first right onto Cedar Lakes Drive (Burger King)

Cedar Lakes Conference Center is 3.5 miles on the right

FROM THE SOUTH:

Take Exit 132 off I-77

At bottom of exit ramp, turn right onto Route 21 North

Make first right onto Cedar Lakes Drive (Burger King)

Cedar Lakes Conference Center is 3.5 miles on the right

FOOD & LODGING:

Use Registration Form Part 1 and send to Cedar Lakes. Meal reservations must be received by Cedar Lakes at least 24 hours in advance. The dining hall only prepares enough meals to match the reservations.

COLLEGE REGISTRATION DUE BEFORE APRIL 9, 2013

Use Registration Form Part 2 and send to the Allohak Council or register on-line. College fee is $12.

Register for specific classes when you arrive at the College.

Training certificates are presented on Sunday. If you can’t attend Sunday, you can request that the certificate be mailed to you ($2 fee) or the certificate will be delivered to your council’s office (no fee).
