About George B. Bennett

For more than 35 years George B. Bennett has been a successful serial entrepreneur. He has co-founded many organizations to include Bain and Company and Braxton Associates, two very highly regarded international strategy consulting firms; Symmetrix, a management consulting firm that specialized in helping large firms translate innovative strategies into cost effective operating practices; Health Dialog, a leading provider of care management, healthcare analytics, decision support, and health coaching.

Bennett earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from West Virginia University in 1967 and a master’s degree and a doctoral degree in industrial administration from Carnegie Mellon University in 1971. In 1982, he was inducted into the WVU Distinguished Alumni Academy of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering. He was inducted into the Academy of Distinguished Alumni at West Virginia University on Feb. 5, 2010 and served on the WVU Foundation’s Board of Directors. On June 5th, he will be honored by the WVU Foundation as the WVU Outstanding Philanthropist, 2015.

Bennett earned his Eagle Scout Award in 1959 as a member of Boy Scout Troop 65 in Morgantown, WV. He is a recipient of the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award. In his youth, he served on staff at Camp Mountaineer and credits much of his success in life to his experiences in Scouting.

An avid boater and fisherman, he has four children and six grandchildren, all of whom live in the Boston area. He and his wife, Mimi, live in Brookline, Mass., and are active in the Brookline and Boston communities. They spend summers at their home on Martha’s Vineyard.
