Backpacking Adventure Weekend 2011

Mountaineer Area Council will have a weekend of backpacking in the Mon National Forest (specific areas to be determined based on the number of participants).  Participants will separate into crews and have itineraries appropriate to the skill level and experience of each crew.

Scouts and adults alike can participate on this trip.  If you don't have a backpack or some other backpacking related gear, that's fine.  Council will have gear available for those who need it.  There is a limited amount of gear which will be assigned first-come, first-serve based on registration.

Schedule

August 24 - deadline for registration.  Use the registration form to sign-up for this event.

August 28 @ 1 PM @ Camp Mountaineer Dining Hall - pre-trip meeting to review crews, trip plans, equipment, etc

September 17 & 18 - backpacking trip

Costs

  • $20 for meals and supplies on the trail
  • Spending money while traveling.  We will stop for lunch on the way home.  Estimate $10.
  • Up to $10 for equipment rental if you need equipment for the weekend (backpack, sleeping bag, and sleeping pad). There is limited amount of equipment available to rent.
